Abstract
One of the most attractive features of spectral hole-burning (SHB) is the possible its application to higher-density data storage media(1,2). Since the recent successes of SHB at room temperature in Sm2+-doped materials(3-6), the possibility of their practical use has become much larger. In that sense, inorganic materials containing Sm2+ are of interest to us(7).
