Abstract
The authors present the performance results of a two-dimensional spread spectrum communications system employing robust locally optimal (LO) maximum likelihood (ML) detection. The system was simulated using the signal processing worksystem (SPW). The preliminary results indicate that the LO nonlinear processor provides a performance improvement over traditional demodulation methods when the spread spectrum system is subjected to a continuous wave (CW) jammer. In addition, the performance of the LO processor is shown to depend on the number of chips per information bit and the ratio of the jammer frequency to the transmitted signal's carrier frequency.<>
