Carbon dioxide emission rate is also increasing day by day due to huge amount of power consumption. Therefore, we require to develop techniques which will help to get more environment friendly computing i.e. Green Cloud Computing. Some of the techniques being used in cloud data centers for reducing the operational costs, power consumption and CO2 emission are resource allocation, virtualization and VM migrations. In this paper, we propose a new technique to reduce the carbon emission and energy consumption in the distributed cloud datacenters having different energy sources and carbon footprint rates.
