[The evolutionary profile of HIV infection in children].

Abstract

The evolution of HIV infection in children is bimodal, not depending on the vertical or horizontal route of transmission and with no assemblence with AIDS evolution in adults. The contaminated children with fast evolution to death in maximum two years, develop a severe neurological and infectious symptomatology. The others even symptomatic show slowly evolution with not so frequent and not so serious acute infectious. The natural history of the HIV infection in children of our country will be better defined in the future for now it is observed only for three years.
