Lumbalgia en un caso clínico de "síndrome del cascanueces"

Abstract

“Nutcracker syndrome” consists of compression of the left renal vein between the superior mesenteric artery and the aorta. We present the case of a 58-year-old woman referred to the pain treatment clinic with a history of low back pain and diagnosed with “nutcracker syndrome”. Venous angiography is performed and a stent is implanted in the renal vein, the gradient and pain disappear. After three months the pain reappeared, so a psoas-iliac muscle block was performed with local anesthetic and corticosteroid. Analgesia is obtained for another 3 months. A second block with 150ui. botulinum toxin A is not effective.
