Abstract
Hyperthermia, increasing tumor temperatures to 40-43°C, is a proven oncological treatment enhancing the effectiveness of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Deep seated tumors are usually heated by a phased array of radiofrequency or microwave antennas positioned around the patient.
