Introduction to car failure detection system based on diagnostic interface

Abstract

Modern cars are full of embedded systems that control cars' components. For diagnostics purposes On-Board Diagnostics (ODB) is used. ODB can be used to read variety of car parameters. The paper describes how such a data collecting environment can be build and how to obtain real data from a car. It contains preliminary results of data analysis that were gathered from a car with malfunctioning thermostat.
