Abstract

Applications such as target recognition from remote sensed imagery may benefit from the fusion of traditional high resolution panchromatic or color images with multispectral or hyperspectral image cubes. A method for such image fusion proposed by Munechika and evaluated on synthetic imagery by Robinson, Gross and Schott is evaluated here using real imagery. A high-resolution RGB photograph is used to enhance a Hymap image cube for a scene taken over Mobile, Alabama.
