Abstract

This paper deals design, modeling and simulation of a variable speed 6/4 switched reluctance machine (SRM) in two operational modes: motor (M) and generator (G). The machine design and electromagnetic characteristics are studied by the electromagnetic filed finite element analysis (FEA). The machine is modeled and simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment driven with the theta position sensor. The final step is reserved to predict the dynamic performances of the two modes SRM/G. An analysis and interpretation of these result is performed.
