Abstract
In this paper the impacts of voltage scheduling on the power system performance are studied for different set of key buses. The generator buses and the buses to which reactive sources are installed form the key buses for voltage scheduling. Two cases are studied for the evaluation of impacts of voltage scheduling. Casel considers the conventional IEEE 30-bus system with the suggested buses for condensers. Case 2 considers the same IEEE 30-bus system with reactive sources installed on key buses found based on graph theory. These buses are selected on basis of their connectivity with other buses. The power system performance for each case is evaluated by finding the total losses, voltage profile and system loadability. The study is conducted using optimal power flow as a tool
