Abstract
Introduction: During the experience of a scholarship student in an Emergency with open doors and responsible for a large part of the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, observing on the front lines as nurses in the red sector the routine of entering the health system of victims of violence domestic practice aroused interest in the application of the duties of the forensic nurse, which we already work with, but due to the practice of care and not due to the understanding of the chain of custody. Thus raising the question of how the scientific literature addresses the performance of Forensic Nursing in the context of Hospital Emergency and disciplining the performance of this professional, focusing on victims of domestic violence in emergency care. Forensic Nursing is the use of nursing practices in the legal field to help in the elucidation of crimes and to help in the realization of justice, in addition to providing care in the prison system. As we are the main professional who provides 24/7 care to the patient, we thus have greater contact to carry out this investigative work. Methodology: The choice of the narrative review came at the same disposition of greater flexibility to be able to use several articles in wide search, taking into account the difficulty of finding materials to support the work. Results, Discussion and Reflection: For years the nurse has worked in this field and due to a lack of knowledge of the judicial details and the importance of his performance that goes beyond this immediate care. Appropriating skills, showing their importance and talking about this knowledge are the main means of getting to have space in new fields. Final Considerations: The knowledge not only for the victim, to be able to identify as aggressions and to be able to get out of this cycle and ask for help, but also for the professionals in the front line of this care, so as to be able to apply a more effective reception, actual and , together with the multidisciplinary team, refer this victim to an outcome without neglecting all aspects of human experience as physical, emotional / psychologist, social and judicial.
