Abstract

Drawing upon the corporate political activity and social capital theory, this study examines how enterprises utilize corporate political resources (CPRs) to improve innovation performance. We argue that CPRs confer enterprises industrial and political competitive advantages that improve innovation. Using survey data from the Zhongguancun Science Park in China, in a sample analysis of 2956 firms from 2000 to 2003, we demonstrate the importance of political resources on innovation.
