Abstract

This study considers the impact of wave - current on Stokes waves in deep water. Using separately, the third, fourth and fifth order approximations of wave profile functions respectively and the determined expressions for wave – current speed , it is shown that the wave - current speed is more intense on the surface of the ocean, but however, the intensity reduces exponentially downwards with the depth.
