Physical and chemical features of red clays in Northern Hungary

Abstract

In this paper, data on the mineralogical composition of samples and a summary of those results are given (through a more detailed analysis of measurement data by using instrumental phase analytical methods concerning the examined boreholes of the two areas) that allow for the characterization of the loess and red clay sequences. The aim of our study was to characterize and correlate rocks in both areas using instrumental tests performed on samples from borehole drilled in the Hegyhat and Uveghuta areas.
