Philosophy 20h: Seminary in Metaphysics, fall semester 1926

Abstract

Notes taken by George Perrigo Conger and Sinclair Kerby-Miller during Whitehead’s seminary (an older word for ‘seminar’) on metaphysics. These sessions were fundamentally different from his lecture course in that they were discussion based – with much time given over to presentations by students – and took place in the intimate setting of Whitehead’s home on Friday evenings, rather than a lecture hall. It covers roughly the same topics as Whitehead’s lecture course, namely metaphysics and the intersection of philosophy and science.
