Abstract

Ethernet passive optical network (EPON) is a technology viewed as an attractive solution to the "last mile" problem. The interleaved polling with adaptive cycle time (IPACT) is a remarkable medium access control (MAC) protocol for EPON. There are two aspects within IPACT.
