Estimates for censored (log)normal samples

Abstract

The author presents an evaluation, by simulation, of the properties of several estimators of the parameters of the (two-parameter) lognormal distribution, for sample sizes from 10 to 60 and for right-censoring of 0 to 80% of the sample. Correction factors to reduce bias and recommendations are included. The estimators are also applicable to right-censored normal samples.<>
