Abstract
Single junction solar cells have a limitation of absorbing part of the incident spectrum with energy photons lower than the energy gap of the used material, and even the photons with higher energies will generate electron-hole pairs, but the energy difference will be converted into thermalization loss. This problem can be solved by using tandem (multi-junction) solar cells. This work presents a proposed two-terminal Perovskite/Silicon tandem solar cell with 27.69% efficiency.
