Abstract
The high-quality economic development process of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration is of great significance for accelerating the coordinated development of the central and western regions and expanding the new space for China's economic growth. This paper measures the economic high-quality development level of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration based on the entropy method. First, establish a logical framework for high-quality economic development. The framework is divided into three parts: conditions, processes and results. The second is to establish a high-quality development evaluation index system for urban agglomerations from three aspects: economic growth, infrastructure construction and ecological capital construction: human capital, people's interests and coordinated development. Finally, a measurement model based on the entropy weight method was established to collect the data of 16 cities in the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2009 to 2018, and comprehensively evaluate the spatiotemporal development trends of 16 cities with higher development levels. The results show that Chengdu and Chongqing have developed rapidly and steadily over the past ten years. The average gap between the first and last cities in the high-quality development level is 0.460, and the high-quality development is uneven within the city group; the average gap between the second and third places in the city group is 0.327, There are serious faults in high-quality development. In the future development, the urban agglomeration cities should be encouraged to develop together, narrowing the regional gap, and promoting the high-quality economic development of the Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration.
