Abstract

This study aims to assess the value of forage nutrients commonly given as goat feed seen from the production of volatile fatty acids, Ammonia (NH3). The experimental design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of treatment of 8 types of forage feed ingredients with 3 replications. The production of NH3 in the feed ingredients of mango leaves, jackfruit leaves, banana leaves, lamtoro leaves, turi leaves, gamal leaves and kaliandra leaves is sufficient for optimal microbial synthesis. VFA production in mango leaf, jackfruit, banana leaves, turi leaves, gamal leaves, mahogany leaves, kaliandra leaves is sufficient for rumen cattle as the main energy source for basic life needs for growth.
