« Sans limites » : une critique politique et écologique du transhumanisme et de son monde

Abstract

This article offers a political and ecological critique of transhumanism and the injunction to enhance our physical, intellectual and emotional performance through techno-scientific and biomedical advances that increasingly govern our advanced capitalist societies. Not only do transhumanism and this culture of human enhancement nourish a depoliticised relationship to the self and the world that provides the basis for an ever more unbridled capitalist appropriation and exploitation of our bodies and our lives. But they also reveal and encourage an anthropocentric and Promethean conception of human emancipation – based on the illusory and disastrous idea of “tearing oneself away” from life and living things – at the exigences environnement par la mondialisation, aux ressources écosystèmes, et de nos psychismes, bref c’est à nos conditions de vie que l’ancien monde doit désormais s’adapter.
