Abstract
A SiGe equalizer IC has been developed to mitigate fiber-induced and electro-optical distortions for 40 Gbits/s optical transmission. Experiments show 50% improvement in 1st-order PMD tolerance for 1 dBQ penalty and 1 dB improvement in back-to-back OSNR sensitivity.
