A case of acute low back and pelvic girdle pain exhibiting instantaneous pain reduction by a pelvic compression device

Abstract

We experienced a case with severe pain at low back or pelvic girdle pain, which was alleviated instantaneously by using a belt-like device to apply compression on the pelvis. The structural characteristics of the pelvic compression device and instantaneous reduction of the symptom suggested that the pain was originated from the sacroiliac joints. It may be useful to distinguish the pelvic girdle pain from low bac pain with the other causes.
