Abstract
Frequency comb multiple access (FCMA) is a new system that belongs to the random multiple access family. The main drawback of this system is that the spectral efficiency is very low and it requires high transmitted power. This can be overcomed by using non-binary codes (e.g. RS codes). This paper presents the computer simulation of a coded FCMA system in the presence of multiple access interference (MAI) and white Gaussian noise (AWGN). Either the source rate or the number of frequency divisions should be reduced to overcome the bandwidth constraint. The obtained results showed that at the same transmitted power the spectral efficiency can be doubled, also the transmitted power can be reduced approximately by 5 dB if the spectral efficiency is kept constant.
