Therefore, it is necessary to do learning that familiarizes students to think critically in responding to mathematical problems. The designed learning is adjusted to the characteristics of the students, so that the learning tools are prepared jointly by the mathematics and science teachers who teach in the pilot class. The purpose of the study is to determine students' critical thinking skills during lesson study-based learning. This research was a descriptive qualitative with the research subjects of Junior High School student, totaling 16 students. The problem solved by students aims to find the roots of the quadratic equation through the provided media experiments. The research stages were (1) determining the research subject, (2) compiling research instruments including learning tools (plan stage), (3) conducting learning (do stage), (4) observing students' critical thinking skills, and (5) doing joint reflection to determine research results. The result of this research is that most of the students are able to think critically in responding to math problems through collaborative activities with their group mates. But there are 2 students in one group who have not been able to solve the problem due to the lack of collaboration. The conclusion of the research is that students are getting used to critical thinking through collaborative activities between students.
