Abstract
In this article we describe the system modeling of an advanced electrical tomography platform for biomedical use. The tomographic data acquisition needs to be as fast as reliable to incorporate tomographic inversion algorithms with almost real-time update. To provide high-level application programming interfaces using standard communication protocols and execute user-level programs, the solution incorporates a system on chip with hardware microcontroller and FPGA. The system consists on a mobile device that allows simultaneous recording of the heart electrical potential activity and lung ventilation imaging. The platform is composed by a data acquisition device and an aggregation and processing engine, in order to generate useful information for diagnostic or for prime monitoring of physiological changes in the body.
