Reconstructing Chinese Characters of “Filial Piety”, “Goodness”, “Oldness” and “Longevity” from Oracle Bone Script to Small Seal Script

Abstract

By combing the morphological evolution of the four Chinese characters of “filial piety”, “Goodness”, “oldness” and “longevity” from oracle bone script to small seal script, this paper sorts out their development process respectively, analyzes the morphological change and the related significance between their components, and finally puts forward the morphological relation of the four Chinese characters.
