Abstract
Mathematical models for evaluating the efficiency of the energy storage system (ESSs) use in regulating the modes of a developing small distribution system are proposed. An analysis of the operation of a small distribution system (SDSs) including a formed group of four ESSs in the case of increasing the SDS load is carried out. A standard test IEEE 33-node 12.6 kV network has been used as a base model. The development of an electrical network is modeled by a 1.4-fold increase in the load in periods of maximum loads compared to the rated load capacity. A target cost function has been formed based on the cost of purchasing electricity by the balancing group and investment costs for the installation of the ESSs, provided that the argument is the capacities of the ESSs and an electricity storage period. The optimization is performed for a given real daily electricity price schedule and a daily load capacity schedule. The rated lower and upper voltage values in the network nodes are defined as constraints.
