Abstract
The authors present a modified fast-decoupled estimation technique in rectangular coordinates to obtain a fast solution of the power system state estimator. This improvement is achieved by introducing further approximations in calculating the Jacobian matrix. The proposed decoupling technique reduces the amount of computational time and computer memory required to obtain the optimal solution. The performance analysis of this technique is evaluated using the IEEE 30-bus system. The proposed rectangular decoupling technique is compared with the standard technique in the polar coordinates, the actual polar decoupling technique and the polar fast-decoupled technique.<>
