Abstract
(Note: Betty True Jones wrote to us concerning her work in the field of Indian Classical Dance quite some time ago. In reading and re-reading the material she submitted, we came to the conclusion that merely a brief note concerning her important activities would not suffice, so publication was put off until the current issue of CORD News. Mrs. Jones, whose early training and experience were in classical ballet, has devoted some ten years to the study of Indian dance forms. Her most intensive training in this field was in India, at the Kerala Kalamandalam in the village of Cheruthuruthy, Kerala State, and atBalasaravati 's Classical Bharata Natyam School in Madras. During five years in India, Mrs. Jones not only studied with India's most distinguished artists, but also performed with the world-renowned Kerala Kalamandalam Kathakali Troupe. Her research in the field of Indian classical dance has been sponsored by the Fulbright Program and the American Philosophical Society.)
