ON THE QUESTION OF CORRELATION BETWEEN THE SPECIES CATEGORY AND THE METHODS OF VERB ACTION (ON THE MATERIAL OF THE RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE VERBS WITH THE SEME «EMOTION»)

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the species category and the methods of verb action as separate linguistic phenomena in their differences and similarities. The main research methods were comparative, transformational methods, component analysis and the method of dictionary definitions. The article describes the species category as a classifying grammatical characteristic of the verb vocabulary, analyzes the mechanisms of the formation of a species pair. The methods of verb action are characterized as a semantic-word-formation category, which is described as optional. The methods of verb action in the Russian emotive vocabulary are presented. Also new semantic groups of derivatives are highlighted. The author of the article describes the relationship between the species category and the methods of verb action, noting both the facts of their coexistence and the phenome-non of mutual exclusion.
