Engineering Complex Safety Critical Software Systems: Abstraction and Concreteness

Abstract

Concrete approaches and Formal methodologies are required to achieve the quality and assurance level in engineering complex safety critical systems. The specificity and opportunity that inspired this work is the development of a new-generation Air Traffic Control System- called 4-Flight. The paper will give the context, the key factors, the challenges and methods to achieve concrete and safe results in a large scale project.
