Abstract

This paper investigates the effect of the Corona noise on the performance of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) used for the transmission line monitoring. Toward this goal, a Markov-Middleton channel model that is affected by the Corona noise occurring in the high voltage transmission lines is proposed. In addition, an analytical expression for the packet loss rate of the system is derived.
