Abstract

Determination of the radial position of a target is a well-known problem encountered in rising sun spin scan reticles. The variants of the rising sun reticle in the literature can extract the radial position of the target with limited resolution in discrete intervals. In this paper a new reticle pattern, which is an alternative to the spin scan reticles that are used on the seekers of infrared guided missiles is proposed. The proposed reticle scheme provides the extraction of both angular and radial positions of the target in a continuous manner.
