Abstract
This paper presents the development of a biomedical system which measures the heart rate, pulse rate, respiration rate and transmits the data over a network for remote monitoring. The proposed system comprises of ECG, PPG and piezo sensors to acquire biomedical signals. The desired information from the signal is extracted by signal processing tools and soft threshold based peak detector, and transmitted to the remote monitoring station through GSM module. Several important experiments have been carried out and compared with standard results. Based on the obtained results, the proposed framework can be used eminently for remote health care.
