Based on the PSS/E power system models, the generating operating condition, the pumped operating condition, the conversion of operating condition and large disturbance can all be simulated. Abstract

In the pumped storage stations, the operating point of reversible pump turbine and the water flow direction in conduit system often change. There is no detailed pumped storage station model in present commercial power system simulation software. The ideal hydro turbine model can only be applied under the generating operating condition, but can't be applied under the pumped operating condition, the conversion of operating condition, large disturbance simulation, and so on.
