Analytical fragility curves are developed to evaluate the benefit of using friction dampers in reducing the risk of damages during significant earthquakes. The methodology that was used to develop the curves is based on calculating the maximum story drift using nonlinear time history analysis for different ground motions with different intensities and frequencies. Abstract
