Abstract

Ultra low phase noise is required for microwave sources of airborne radars to detect very weak target echo signals. Particularly in pulse doppler radars, at close-in relative velocity, an ultra low phase noise of Exciter source is an essential requirement. But airborne radars undergo severe vibrations during its operation. The phase noise degrades under vibration which is undesired. Different mitigation techniques are used to combat the phase noise degradation during vibration. In this paper, the mitigation techniques used for phase noise degradation under vibration of microwave sources for airborne radar applications is presented.
