CTPON-cordless telephony services over a passive optical network using fibre radio techniques

Abstract

The authors consider the provision of a cordless telephony service over a passive optical network (PON) using fiber-radio techniques. Results from a practical demonstration of a cordless telephony service, using CT2 (second generation cordless telephone) technology, over an eight-way split PON are also presented and used to predict the performance over higher split optical networks.<>
