Abstract
This paper describes the use of attentional modulation of neuronal signals in elementary feature detection. In particular, motion detection can be selectively tuned to favour movements in the desired direction by providing a suitable directional bias in the detection system. Computer simulation results of apparent motion demonstrating the effects of selectively biasing in elementary motion detection are presented.
