New telecommunications services and regulation: case Serbia

Abstract

Development of new communications networks and services, and liberalization of the communication market in countries in transition require well-defined regulations. In the paper, the development situation in EU market is discussed with market deployment and perspective of broadband services: ISDN, ADSL, cable modems and mobile networks. The situation in Serbia is compared and adequate measures to speed up development are proposed.
