Abstract

This paper examines and monitors the State of Charge (SOC) of the Battery to improve the efficiency and performance of an Electric Vehicle’s energy storage system. A BEV powertrain model was developed on Matlab Simulink, and various driving cycles (reference speeds) were applied to its input to verify its validity by tracking performance and battery state of charge. The obtained results prove the use of the developed model for future improvements.
