Participated in the questionnaire 385 persons, where the socioeconomic status of the interviewees was verified (gender, age group, schooling and family income), possible obstacles present in the marketing and consumption of the derivatives of búfala milk in the region, level of knowledge regarding the nutritional values of these foods (cheese, yogurt, butter, sweet milk), opinion as to the prices charged for these products in the domestic market, organoleptic characteristics more appreciated and the most consumed derivatives in the interviewees' homes , regardless of the animal species. It was observed that 56,10% did not know any nutritional benefit of the derivatives of the búfala milk; 66% of the female gender, never consumed, but would like to experiment if there was an opportunity, thus demonstrating the interest of the belenense population in acquiring them in their residences. Abstract
