Accordingly, enjoyment of a learning game is often an important design and evaluation criteria. However, while it is often declared that learning games are fun for children players, empirical evidence is hard to come by as measuring fun is not straightforward. Additionally, instruments suitable for adolescents are scarce. FunQ is a recently developed questionnaire specifically designed for adolescents for the assessment of the experienced fun. In this paper I review the development and validation of FunQ, elaborate on the psychometric properties, and across several studies I discuss application areas, suitable ages, and the translations of the instrument.
