Abstract

In gas insulated switchgear (GIS), the transient electric field distribution characteristics under very fast transient overvoltage (VFTO) are of important significance for evaluating the insulation performance of basin insulators. In engineering, the electrostatic field is generally applied to substitute the transient electric field which could not accurately describe the electric field distribution characteristics under VFTO. In this article, the high-frequency characteristics of the medium are considered in the process of establishing the transient electric field calculation model.
