Abstract
For optical cable, it is of great significance to ensure the continuous and normal operation of the entire optical cable lines and maximize its effective life. Mathematical statistical models are usually used to assess the impact of aging issues on the life of the optical cable. Based on the monitoring data of the optical cable lines, this paper proposes to use Weibull Proportional Hazard Model (WPHM) to improve the accuracy of the evaluation results. We take the maximum availability of the optical cable as the optimization goal, calculate the degradation threshold of optical cable line, and make the availability assessment and maintenance decisions of optical cable based on the threshold. An example of optical cable relay section is used to verify the accuracy of the evaluation method. This method has certain application value in comprehensively grasping the operating conditions of optical cable and improving the availability of optical cable.
