The Arabic sentence and linguistic time - a semantic grammatical study

Abstract

The paper sheds light on the relationship between grammar and meaning, by studying how the Arabic sentence expresses linguistic time in its morphological and grammatical parts. The expression of time in language occupied linguistic thought, in the past and present. Time is linked to actual formulas and with a number of constraints and time components, but the formula does not express time in an absolute way. It does not represent the party, and it may shift from the past to the future and vice versa, with the influence of the context. The paper aimed at identifying the chronology in Arabic and revealing its components, following the descriptive and analytical approach, and its importance through its treatment of the relationship between language and time showed that linguistic time is a contextual grammatical time that cannot stand its truth outside the context.
