Update of RAM Mobile Data's packet data radio service

Abstract

The state of the service is presented, including coverage; the accelerated build-out schedule; current users of the service; the types of terminals and applications available; and how the Mobitex-based packet-switched radio data service system is being constructed. In addition, some of the technical details of the open Mobitex air interface are described in order to show how mobile terminals effectively operate in the difficult mobile radio environment.<>
