Abstract
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited is a front runner to implement ground breaking cohesive technologies to develop a robust distribution network. Prioritization of feeder matrix to identify maintenance need, state of the art audit methodology, intelligent protection coordination and integrated distribution automation system help the organization to reduce the system average interruption frequency index(SAIFI), system average interruption duration index (SAIDI) and minimum time of fault restoration to a significant level. On the other hand, smart predictive maintenance practices like ultrasound scanning, thermal radiation scanning, breaker travel time analytics, cable signature analysis etc. help to increase average asset utilization life. Application of those modern technologies is helpful for organization capital and operational expenditure budget planning as well as future structural planning. This paper provides a holistic approach to operate and maintain a hybrid distribution network to its optimum capacity and also share some good practices followed in Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited to increase network reliability and reduce technical losses.
