Abstract

This paper describes the development of Ka-band 175W low gain helix traveling wave tube (TWT), the model LD7285, for the gateway terminal of next generation satellite broadband communication systems and local multipoint distribution services(LMDS).The noise power is reduced by reducing the TWT gain and also to provide output power of 175 W over 27.5 - 30.0 GHz.
